Jean in Newcastle Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 Wash a boatload of dishes type up meeting notes and disseminate one hour in the Schoolroom of Doom. I would really like it if we could go to the dog park tomorrow. Feed the birds. Tuppence a bag. 4 1 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted February 20, 2020 Author Posted February 20, 2020 Oh and Scout, I wanted to thank you. I have been on high doses of magnesium and calcium for muscle cramping that has wracked my body for years. It’s bad enough that my doc was talking about putting me on meds they give to people with CP. Anyway... you mentioned zinc. So I started to take that a couple of weeks ago. My cramps are so much less. Normally the last hour and a half of the drive home from these meetings I am cramping so badly that I can barely stand it. But tonight- no cramping! Well right now in bed I am cramping but it is still less severe. I am cautiously optimistic. Cautious because my stupid body has a tendency to initially do better and then revert when it gets used to things. But I am very happy with how things sre going right now. Thank you so much. 5 1 Quote

ScoutTN Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 (edited) Jean, I am so glad you have gotten some relief! I think there is a ratio or proper balance for some of these minerals that has an effect on their helpfulness. I forgot to take my mag/cal/zinc at bedtime and am consequently up with leg cramps. Now I can't turn my brain off and go back to sleep. Thursday: make a lunch for ds AHG things bills and budget ✅ tag clothes - MUST DO! laundry Michael's ✅ work at church ✅ pick up Ds ✅ AHG Dinner is leftovers/odds-n-ends, as we continue to eat through our refrigerator food in prep for moving to the hotel on Sunday. TheReader Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 Good morning! Today is DS*15*'s bday-- can't believe he's 15! Wow. How did we get here? So, today's list.... ....school prep for Monday -- review what did/didn't get sent home to do since we had class cancelled this past week and figure out what needs to be done this coming week ....hand-out prep for Monday's Open House -- review/revise the hand-outs I made last year (prior to actually teaching these 2 classes) and make sure they still tell/say what I want them to say ....pick up DS22 from therapy; talk to the doctor today?? ....try and figure out the neuropsych stuff...?? I'm thinking maybe the doctor who suggested it doesn't "get" what neuropsych is/does, &/or didn't communicate well what he thinks DS needs ....go get a cake & cards for DS/Bday Boy -- he wants chocolate strawberry something ....give DS the day off school since it's his bday ....SEW ....dinner tonight...will ask DS, but probably spaghetti; tomorrow is his actual bday dinner (out) at his favorite Brazilian food place, but I'd still like to make today's dinner something he loves ....watch Lego Masters after dinner 4 Quote

SKL Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 Howdy, happy Thursday! It's been a wonky day so far. Tried and failed to get up early. Re-arranged the way I usually do things, out of necessity. Yesterday I spent about 4 hours going to see my brother in the hospital. I heard they were going to send him home today, and I may or may not have to help out with a ride. Honestly, I hope not since I don't have time to spare. Although I have been relatively efficient this week, you wouldn't know because of all the extra stuff. Done: Reviewed several draft audits. Kids up & ready. Remembered the gym suits were in the washer. Threw them in the dryer on high. Stuffed them into the bags, possibly slightly damp. Reviewed math homework, helped with corrections during breakfast. Kids rushed out just about on time. Work/study still not done, hopefully they finished it on the bus. Cleaned the kitchen. Reviewed another pile of draft audits, sent emails to move other projects incrementally. Texted brother about his hospital discharge. Dried and processed the rest of the clothes from the washer. Caught up on emails, news, social media, calendar, and electronic school stuff. Did part of my exercise routine. Working on coffee #2. And I am out of milk. 😕 To do: As many company accounting packages as possible. Various other client work. Finish all my exercise stuff. A little reading. Various housework in preparation for the maids to come tomorrow. Get Kid2 to prepare for AHG badge work for tonight's meeting. Kids' homework. AHG meeting. Quick run to the grocery store & cash machine. Whatever else gets done. 6 Quote
SKL Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 And I would like to know, how is it almost noon??? 6 Quote

MysteryJen Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 Home from babysitting, post office and library. There were complications with the holds- someone else with my name, checking out books I would never check out, so I decided to hyphenate my name at the library- hopefully that will solve the problem. The librarian was sort of irriated that I wanted to fix the problem- she said I could just check the ibrary card number- but I pointed out so could they, so the holds wouldn't be all mixed up together. A small irriation at the end of a wild babysitting day- too many kids in a small space, too many varying ages, too many moms moving in and out. I am tired and not very interested in doing much this afternoon. Going to chill and check conference swim results, read a little, and then get ready for a few chores. 5 Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted February 20, 2020 Author Posted February 20, 2020 (edited) Why doesn't anything (other than vacations 😉 ) take less time than we thought it would take? Have washed 3/4 of the dishes. Going to do the rest after lunch. Was distracted by the air bnb host sending me 5 messages in quick succession simply because I didn't give her five star ratings for every single thing. I still gave her a very nice review and an over all nice rating. I'm a bit irritated at her now. Was also distracted by ds who was having a billing issue with the college and his bank. But it seems to be all sorted out now. Frustrating trying to deal with that over text and with screenshots! Edited February 20, 2020 by Jean in Newcastle 4 Quote
Selkie Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 (edited) Feeling crabby because my horses were messing around in the water tank and now I need to replace the heater and the conduit pipe that the cord goes through. Also crabby because I am sick of having to wear cleats on my boots all winter. Can this ice please just melt?? And I am worried because my old man Snorri is all of a sudden very lame on his front left leg today. Hoping it is nothing major. Warm temps and soft ground would be helpful. *sigh* Ok, enough grumbling. I have gotten a little bit of office work done, ordered a few things, cleaned the kitchen, and unpacked a bunch of UPS/FedEx boxes. Just realized that it is 3:00 and I have not eaten lunch yet, so that is next on my agenda. Edited February 20, 2020 by Selkie 5 Quote
ScoutTN Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 (edited) Made good progress on church work. Waiting for ds now. Next: Pick up dd and my new Rx on the way home. ✅ Prep dinner ✅ Move laundry ✅ Tag clothes AHG with dd. ✅ Edited February 21, 2020 by ScoutTN 5 Quote

Selkie Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 Horse chores are done, except for scrubbing buckets. Dh and I got the new tank heater set up. The conduit is temporarily held in place with duct tape - best we can do until we get to the hardware store. The bunnies who live under the hay shed got their nightly scoop of grain. Just relaxing with a latte for a little bit until I get back to work. I'm entertaining the puppies by throwing ice cubes across the floor - they love to chase after them and play with them. 3 Quote
TheReader Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 I think I finished the Kindergarten hand out for the open house. Egads. But I think this is the one I'll stick with from now on, so that's good. And now that I have the format, the 1st and 2nd grade ones will be easier. I think. Ha. I also did pick up DS, buy the cake & card, and DH is home early enough we're going out tonight (so no spaghetti, yay!) and will come home, eat cake, watch Lego Masters, done. Tomorrow (tonight??) I'll do the 1st and 2nd grade hand outs (handouts?) along with the other school prep. 4 Quote
