DS15 did that to his previous laptop. His current laptop is a 2in1 so he can use the onscreen keyboard if he damage the keys again.

We have a few cheap USB keyboards in our house. I have a AU$59 Logitech Bluetooth keyboard to use with my iPad but can be used for laptops and mobile phones. https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/logitech-bluetooth-multi-device-keyboard-k480-inlobtk480

Didn’t think of an external keyboard

that may work but it’s about a $300 laptop so might be just as easy cheap to replace.  It also only has Only one USB port so will be either keyboard or mouse

DS15’s small asus laptop has insufficient USB ports so he has an external USB hub. Something like this AU$14.94 one https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/targus-4-port-usb-hub-tach114au#reviews
