Roadrunner
Not sure where to put this question, but one of mine wants to try some camps and we need to record the audition tape. Phone quality audio is terrible. If you have done this before, can you please walk me through what equipment I need to buy and what I need to do to produce good quality audio? And where to even record it (living room?).

Guest
Do you have a university with a music industry program? If so, they probably have the equipment-and students who need practice and would be willing to help for a reasonable fee.

I could try that, but we will probably need to do this more times than one and I am wondering if investing into some equipment would be wiser. geodob
Getting the right type of microphone, is important. For a Cello, the best type has a ' large diaphragm condenser'. Also for recording a Cello, a large room will produce the best sound.

geodob
A Zoom Recorder would be good, rather than a separate microphone. Which has to be connected to a Recorder. The H2N and H4N would be suitable. They do take a bit of trial and error, to get the right Settings.
