crazyforlatin Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 I’ve been buying tretinoin on alldaychemist.com, but the derm wants Dd to try dapsone which is still too much even with a goodrx coupon. It’s not available on that site. We did order another cream she prescribed from the same site for evening use. Has anyone ordered this from an overseas source? Quote
Valley Girl Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 Not what you asked, but at one time the manufacturer had a program on its website that could be used with or without insurance. It was good for at least a few refills, I think. 1 Quote
Jentrovert Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 Yes, sign up for the program through the manufacturer. It substantially reduced the price. Also, I found that a little goes a long way, so it lasts a while. (Granted, I'm not using it as much or often as a teen, but I still think it would last a good while.) 1 Quote

Initially we got it free using our insurance through them, but when I went to reorder, they said our insurance no longer covered it, but I could pay out of pocket $35. I tried ordering it from Walgreens instead and was stunned by the cost, even after insurance (hundreds). So I called GenRX back and it was no problem. I have no idea how that works. Why is it so much less with them when it’s insane at regular pharmacies? Thanks for this, I called this morning and am waiting for the doc to send the prescription. It’s true, $35 if I have commercial insurance which I hope includes Obama care (forgot the current name) but not covered if Medi-cal or Medicare. Quote

It goes through multiple middle men and there are agreed upon prices between the insurance and the pharmacy benefit provider that allow for the markups. We get Avi-Qs for free to us direct. The insurance company pays the cost direct to them and skips the middle guy. I hope we see more of this in the future. 1 Quote
