katilac Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 I'm looking for any type of activities about jobs and job skills that can be done by very low-performing high school students who are shaky on even basic skills. Filling in blanks from a word bank is more doable than answering questions with complete sentences, that type of thing. Math should be work-related but relatively simple. Videos are fine and great but they need some hands-on activities as well. I'm open to anything including games, puzzles, anything that puts pencil to paper. I'm going to work on scaffolding some of the material I have (more complicated because it's a mixed abilities group, I do want more from those who are capable), but some of these students absolutely cannot do the work I currently have for them without nearly one-to-one assistance. Heeeelp me! Quote
Pen Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 This is for what? Public school? Homeschool group? Would Jossey-Bass publishers have something? Don’t some companies have things? Like French Fry cooks at McDonalds. Or Good Will work prep programs? Quote
katilac Posted January 8, 2020 Author Posted January 8, 2020 Public school. I'm looking for ideas or activities to print. They have a book/curriculum, but it's geared too high and I need some activities they can do on their own and/or that are a bit more fun than struggling through the assignment. Like I found some high school Mad Libs, and we'll use that to review parts of speech. Quote
Pen Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Beyond Jossey-Bass, or maybe something from Annie Casey Foundation, IDK. Giving you a bump! 1 Quote
