While we've enjoyed stuff like Narnia, we're looking for something a bit deeper right now. Recently, we've been enjoying books like Hinds' feet on high place, the new Pilgrim's progress, the Trailblazers series of missionary biographies, and Kisses from Katie. Terabith Posted January 1, 2020 Share Posted January 1, 2020 So much depends on what your theological background is. For all that I don’t love Lord of the Rings, it would be good. Best class I took in seminary was Philosophy of C. S. Lewis, and his stuff is pretty accessible, so I would use him pretty extensively. Rachel Held Evans, Nadia Bolz-Weber, Girl Meets God by Lauren Winner (and the Mitford books), Barbara Brown Taylor, Madeleine L’Engle, Finding God in the Waves would work well for my family but not necessarily others.
