WendyLady Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 (edited) Happy New Years Eve! We were planning to drive home tomorrow from our daughters house (dd lives in a tiny apt, and we are staying at a generous friend’s house while they are out of town) , but weather is headed this way so we are going to leave this afternoon. I hate to go!! And there is so much to do: ✅wash sheets ✅go on a walk ✅make beds ✅sweep ✅vacuum ✅Gather garbages ✅pack ✅pay college dd’s rent (why don’t I have this set up automatically?) ✅go out to lunch with dd ❤️ That’s a good start.... whew! Crazy morning, but we are on the road. Next up, take a nap.... Edited December 31, 2019 by WendyLady 5 Quote
ScoutTN Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 (edited) Enjoyed a yummy omelette and visited with coworkers, then did some actual work. It is a spectacular day here in terms of weather. Crisp, low 40s, brilliant sunshine, deep blue sky. Might need to rearrange my day just to be out in it! Next up: Trader Joe's bookstore Edited December 31, 2019 by ScoutTN 4 Quote

ScoutTN Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 (edited) Ate lunch out, by myself, in a sunny spot, and it was nice. Did not get to the bank. By the time I got to Trader Joe's and the Walmart grocery, it was late afternoon. No extra cooking today. I've done some general tidying and am about to take dd's to a friend's. My guys are watching football. I am hoping to be in my pjs at 7 and read for several hours tonight. We are boring NYE people this year! Dinner is appetizers (But not anything fun off the thread I started bc no time.) The festive food will be brownies and ice cream with homemade chocolate sauce. Selkie Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Just got back from the grocery store and got everything put away. Ds21 is back with my car. It had been making a squeaking noise that I thought was the brakes, but turns out a wheel bearing had gone bad. That's all fixed and new tires are on. We're having a Mexican 7-layer dip for our NYE dinner, but deconstructed - so all the ingredients are on the table and everyone can choose what they like and assemble their own. Dessert is chocolate silk pie and ice cream. 3 Quote
ScoutTN Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Dinner ended up being: Pigs in a blanket made with hot dog length kielbasa and crescent rolls (served with honey mustard), jalapeno poppers, buffalo cheese dip with tortilla chips or veggies, hummus with veggies, tomato and cucumber salad. Not bad for a last minute effort. There are plenty of veggies, enough protein to keep dh full and not lots of carbs. Skipping brownies, so dessert is ice cream and chocolate sauce. Guys are watching The Phantom. 4 Quote
