gardenmom5 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 (edited) we got the video of my accident - clearly showing how reckless the other driver was being (going westbound in the east bound lanes - which he was crossing at a long diagonal.- to bypass the left turn lane - is reckless, then he pulled in front of me as I was turning. he had a much longer time frame to see me, than I ever did to see him because he literally started from three cars behind me.). the city was really fast in getting the video to us, and dh sent it off to our insurance claims dept. We were supposed to have an answer today. DH transposed a number, so it was never applied to my case. he has resent it. With Christmas, and who knows who is taking what time off - I've no idea now when the video will be seen, or when it will get noted in my file and this finally resolved. they had told us last week to call them today - dh just found out they never got it. so - prayers for peace and calm please. that the agents will be timely in looking at this. He also sent it to our own agent this time (I don't know why he didn't last week.) This whole thing has been really hard on me. I was so thrilled when the police officer said there was video, and gave us explicit instructions on how to get a copy. He also stated firmly I did nothing wrong, and called the claims dept and told them we had video that was "shocking". UPDATE: Thank you everyone. dh went to our agent's office to speak with him. Agent watched the video half a dozen times. He was "wow'd" by what he saw - and that was when he thought the guy came back later to blame me! (nope, he blamed me from the get-go.). Our agent called the claims dept and told them to watch the video. (hopefully they will do so today). This should put an end to it. I should be absolved of fault. (hopefully sooner than later.) The guy will be lucky if they don't cancel him. . . . . . (I hope they do - to really drive home to him, his driving was so egregious HE was the one at fault!) I talk to the trees Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 🤗 Sounds like the other driver is trying very hard to get a Darwin Award! 1 Quote

katilac Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 I hope they are quick, but even if they aren't it sounds like you have nothing to worry about! Sending peaceful vibes your way. 1 Quote
Annie G Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 I hope they are quick, but be prepared in case there’s a wait. In the spring a car hit my parked car- I didn’t know about it until the police officer came into the doctor’s office looking for my car’s owner. The girl who hit me left the scene but came back and called the police. So a slam dunk, right? Nope. Took nearly a month for the insurance company to acknowledge fault. (State Farm held her insurance) ‘I’m sorry this is stressing you out, and I’m not trying to be a negative nelly- just helping you manage your expectations. And I hope they’re speedy when it comes to processing the claim! 1 Quote

And I hope they’re speedy when it comes to processing the claim! we have the same company. since I hit him, you'd think I was at fault . . .. even when I knew he had to have been in the turn lane behind me, I was suspicious. the video is damning for him - he was three cars behind me in the left turn lane. our agent has viewed the video this morning. he called it "very interesting". dh is dropping by his office to talk. I've no idea what's said. Dh was hopping he could push things through with claims. I realized one of the things that has made this so difficult - is my covert narcissist grandmother's mind-games/programming. I was blamed for many things my sister did. (even if it was just in her head.) my grandmother used it to justify her favoritism of my sister, and her pushing me out. so, my expectations/paranoia is I get the "fuzzy side of the lollipop." Being absolved, should be very healing as well. and the latest on my car is they found more damage when they took it apart. (no surprise there.) so they have to get insurance co. permission to move forward with ordering the parts. My car still has less damage than the guy's truck. . . . . but he drove right into the line where I was turning. oh - the video does show he lied. he claimed he was turning when I hit him. actually - he was going straight at an angle in the opposite direction of traffic. I was turning. Edited December 23, 2019 by gardenmom5 1 Quote
