Pen Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 I am having trouble trying to scan using my “all in one printer” (have another thread on that). As I was looking things up, I learned that there seem to be a couple of apps for using iPhone to scan a paper document and turn it into a pdf — do any of you do this? If so can you recommend an app? For example, in App Store I found, if link works today: Scanner App: Scan PDF Document by Appxy nope link won’t link... Quote
domestic_engineer Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 If you have an Evernote account, “Scannable” is a good option. I’m trying to move away from Evernote. So I just tried “Genius scan” this week and was happy with it. A friend uses the paid version of “Tiny Scanner” and really likes it; that’s my plan B if the free version of Genius Scanner disappoints. Being able to scan in Batch Mode is very important to me .... but apparently I’m not willing quite yet to pay for it. 😂 1 Quote
teachermom2834 Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 I use TurboScan. It was recommended by the online course provider my dd uses. It has worked great. Very easy to use to scan documents and email them. I don’t know what else can be done with it but I use it pretty frequently just for that. 1 Quote
crazyforlatin Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 I have an iPhone and use turboscan and drop the PDF into Box for emailing. 1 Quote
bibliophile Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 You can scan right in the notes app on the iPhone. Open a new note and click on the camera icon to select the scan option. It works great. 3 1 Quote

Im still trying to figure out scanning via my printer, because there’s so much more storage on my computer and its back up external hard drive, that is at least for reduction of receipts and paper clutter. But using the cellphone as long as I don’t crud up its memory is easier. And sending email with the Genius Scan pdf was so easy — just a few minutes to download the app, and click, and choose export by email and off it went. 2 Quote

I do use the camera to record a lot of things including on paper, business cards, etc, just as a photo and saved like any other photo. Quote
