I did the cheap version at a "salon" in a Walmart - does that count?

The glue was smelly, and it made my eyes water for the first 30 minutes or so, but I LOVED them. Unfortunately no one told me until after the fact that you should not get them wet the first 24 hours, and that high heat can melt the glue. I got them done Christmas eve and had to shower soon after getting them AND was sticking my head in a hot oven checking cookies all day. So they started falling out pretty quickly.

But I LOVE them and want to do them again. If I had the cash for the good ones I'd do it. Mascara tends to make my eyes water, and my natural lashes are blonde so I feel I look odd without mascara.

I haven't.  My dental hygienist has them, but they are so well done I wasn't sure and had to ask, even after I (probably creepily!) stared at her lashes from a few inches away during a whole cleaning.

One thing I've noticed is it's like hair bleach or push up bras.  People start with something tasteful and believable, and then go further and further and eventually look so fake and cheap it makes them look worse overall. Some of the women I follow on YouTube started doing them a few years ago, and at first it was beautiful and now it looks like a crazy horrible farce - Tammy Faye Baker style.

There's one woman I follow who gave instructions on how to do them yourself, but I don't have time for that kind of maintenance right now so I haven't tried it yet.  I'll try to find the video.

I had them on for about a year, getting them filled every month. I LOVED the look. My real lashes are short and sparse, and I have hooded lids. Lashes long enough to curl over the lids made a huge difference. Even my husband noticed and liked them - it has to be striking for him to (1) notice and (2) express an opinion. 🙂

It burned quite a bit for the first few minutes, but was ok after that. What I didn't like was: the feeling of not being able to take my eye makeup off well (not a big deal bc I rarely wore it), the "holes" toward the end of the month (solveable by going more frequently), and the general all-the-time feeling of having something glued to your eyelashes.

I would have had them on again, except that I haven't wanted to spend the money.

I had them done yesterday.  No burning.  Not being able to get them wet bugged me bad this morning, but I am past that now and will wash them before I go to bed.  I love them.  People definitely notice.  Even my 19 year old son noticed from across the room this morning.  I have some hooding going on and it really took that away.

I don’t know if I can afford fillings once a month.....but I think I really like it.

It seems like everyone in my area has them. I think they look nice. Only one person that I see has “too much” lashes -  Both too long and too thick and really unnatural. All of the others that I have noticed look really natural and healthy, and make me feel like my lashes are sort of sad!!

My college dd does stick on lashes and they look great on her, too!

maybe I need a stick on set in my stocking to try...
