madteaparty Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 (edited) Hello I have a vitamix that must be first generation or close to. Use it about twice weekly for smoothies and such. There’s nothing really wrong with it it’s just I want to make perfectly smooth soups and the stick blender won’t cut it. Don’t want to pour hot soup into plastic. Can you recommend a blender with a glass bowl for this purpose? Many thanks! Edited December 8, 2019 by madteaparty Quote
klmama Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 You really shouldn't blend hot liquids in a blender. It builds up pressure, and the liquid explodes when you try to open it. You need to let it cool first, so it's safe. Since it needs to be cool, your current vitamix should work fine - you just have to wait a while. 1 Quote
Arcadia Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 (edited) I saw this one at William Sonoma store (Hillsdale) and am thinking of buying it. Just need to declutter my kitchen first. https://www.williams-sonoma.com/m/products/instant-pot-ace-plus-blender/ “ Integrated heating elements allow you to cook right in the glass pitcher. Warm function automatically keeps food warm for up to 2 hours after hot blending. Ability to toggle between a preset fixed-pattern Pulse program or activate one-touch manual pulse control. Premium-quality 56-oz. glass pitcher includes a concealed heating element and 8 machine ground stainless steel blades.” Edited December 8, 2019 by Arcadia Quote
