Stressing!

Aside from several work reports that urgently need to go out today - and at least one conference call - I have AHG tonight (the girls have to prepare some things after school & bring their instruments & we need to arrive early).  Then who knows how much homework will need to be done after our return from AHG?  Probably at least an hour.

Done:

  • Reviewed homework.
  • Collected and packed gym clothes.
  • Kids up & off to school.
  • Printed some forms & got signatures from boss.
  • Reviewed legal document.
  • A couple quick work emails.
  • Made an amazon order (my coffee!)
  • Calendar work.
  • Caught up on emails, news, social media.
  • A bit of house cleaning, brisk walking, stretching.
  • Sent a couple AHG emails.

To do:

  • Figure out priorities for the day.
  • Work
    • Client 1 Financials A ASAP (nearly done).
    • Send invoice and signature for cash transfer.
    • Review items for noon conference call.
    • Probably need to do a report in advance of noon call.
    • Complete and send 3 forms to open bank accounts.  (Might need a call re this matter.)
    • Client 2 Financials B
    • Review work emails to see if I'm forgetting anything.
    • Noon conference call.
    • Client 1 review draft audit.
    • Client 3 send wire transfer info for tax payment.
    • Client 4 invoice/transfer forms and info requests.
    • Client 1 financials C.
    • Client 1 many other financial reports (total 25 entities, supposed to be already done and sent to auditor; the hardest ones are mostly done).
    • Probably other things I am forgetting.
  • Yoga, practice TKD form.
  • A little reading.  A little more housework.
  • Kids - debrief school day, make them practice the song they will play at AHG, make them work on at least one badge requirement for AHG.  Homework if there is time.
  • Dinner on the fly.
  • AHG meeting - bring kids' instruments and music.
  • Kids' homework, test study, baths etc.
  • Kids' school stuff - write check, send money for Christmas shop, probably some other random things.
  • Prepare school bags / clothes for tomorrow morning.
  • Whatever else gets done.

human care is done

pet care is done

medical care is done

I have the keys and title ready for the tow truck driver when  he arrives.

I am listening to Mannheim Steamroller Christmas albums again.  I like that they have a lot of the really old carols mixed in with new jazzy tunes.

Ordered books for kids for Christmas. Plus a Dave Barry Christmas audiobook for our entertainment while driving and sitting in traffic!
I know Amazon can be evil and annoying, but I do love shopping in the comfort of my home, doing in just a few minutes what would take hours of trekking around.

Next up:

Get dressed to go out.
Rescue the brownies from the oven.
Check math
Serve lunch

Well, I got some emails / reports / invoices out and lived through the first conference call.  I am behind where I wanted to be at this point, but chugging along.

Found out that yes, I have a second conference call in about 2 hours.  Apparently it was scheduled for morning but I never got the invite.

My computer is being a butt today.

Thought of a couple more things I need to do:

  • Call the theater/scout people re Saturday event.
  • Kids' lunch orders for the rest of December.

I had to stay home from "coffee shop school" today because my son's car was being towed away for charity (public television).  It was his first clunker and only worked for about a year (and only about half that time!).  It has been on my list FOREVER to be towed away but I had to send him the title at college, get him to sign, send it back, and then all the donation and tow details.  There are still some donation paperwork details but at least it is finally out of our driveway and I can now park my car in our driveway and not on our street.  I have had one neighbor in particular make a lot of snide comments about my car being on the street despite them parking at least two cars on the street. . .

Home from babysitting. One little girl wore her mittens all morning. She took them off to use hand sanitzer before snack, rubbed her hands dry, put the mittens back on and ate her animal crackers. Not one kid said a word about it. 😂

Filled up the car, picked up a couple of holds at the library and snagged a new book off the "lucky day" shelf. It is my favorite thing about the library. They take super popular new books that have a long hold line and put one copy on the shelf. It has to be checked out in person at the library and you can't renew it. I seriously love it.

ds3 is sorted for tonight. Dh has choir.

Next up- pack clothes and bag of things to do while I wait, take ds3 to tennis, check in with dh about picking him up- it is raining, with a forecast of snow later.

Jean, I like Mannheim Steamroller, too! Also some of Trans Siberian Orchestra's songs, which are sort of similar.

Christmas is different this year at our house, too. This is the first year that all my kids, even dd, are just ho-hum about it. Sigh.

I'm in the middle of chopping up vegetables from our produce box and prepping dinner ingredients. My oven was making an alarming noise, like a loud vibrating rattle, a few minutes ago. This oven is less than a year old, so it better not dare conk out on me!

Animal Control just texted and asked if I know of anyone missing a German Shepherd and a smaller dog that were found running loose near us. Nope. Poor babies, I hope they weren't dumped.

Dh, dd, and I just spent several minutes gawking at pictures of an unbelievably tacky and awful house that is for sale near us for fifteen million dollars.😱

Ugh.  I finished some of the work, lived through 2 conference calls, but then a client asked me about something and it turns out I made a mistake.  I rarely do that on work sent out to a client, but when I do, it stinks.  I hope he is understanding about it.  (It's one of millions of numbers, but you know, nobody cares if the other 10 million numbers are right; it's that one that is wrong they fuss about ....)

Kids are fooling around instead of doing what they need to do.  That is not helping my stress.

I need to send at least one more thing out before I leave for AHG ... and I have less than an hour to do it, so here's hoping it isn't super hard.  !!
