Terabith Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 (edited) Extremely nauseous, low grade fever, feel terrible. Achy. Haven’t vomited but afraid if I put anything on my stomach it won’t stay there. Norovirus is rampant in area. Trying to decide what to do. Really don’t want to go to doctor out of fear of exploding in car or office. Blah. 3/4 of us are feeling bad, to varying degrees. Edited December 4, 2019 by Terabith 1 Quote
PeterPan Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 You have got to be joking. You were JUST sick!!! Did you forget to wear your bubble suit? We picked up something (actually like 3 somethings) at an UC waiting room in Orlando that I'm pretty sure was norovirus. It was nasty. However it passes. Take probiotics, rest. Sorry you're sick again. Quote
Terabith Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 It’s been like two months since I was sick. That wound up being basically a bad cold and didn’t last long. But yeah, I am embarrassed. Shouldn’t happen this often. My current theory is that stress tanks my immune system. And it’s been pretty damn stressful. But then again, I swear everyone we know has Norovirus. 2 Quote

But that's a bummer that it's going around. I think it is considered highly contagious. We saw Disney workers coming into the clinic, and they wouldn't even stay where the sick people were, because they knew. Just being around them at all was enough. Quote

Terabith Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 Having dry heaves now. The thought of eating or drinking is...not appealing. Quote
Katy Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 If you're not allergic to dairy Kefir has been proven to prevent and reduce duration of norovirus symptoms. Any probiotic might work but it specifically has been shown. 2 Quote
sassenach Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 I was nauseous and SO TIRED yesterday. Woke up in the middle of the night really feeling like I was going to lose my cookies but I didn’t. I feel better today but I’m still popping ginger capsules. Quote

I have felt so nauseous. I have had stomach cramps. I’ve had a little diarrhea but not much and some dry heaving, but nothing in my stomach. I have no energy. My head and body ache and I’ve got a low grade fever. 100.3 or so, when usually I’m in the 97’s most of the day. But so nauseous. I can’t eat or drink. I can’t really read. I just feel awful. Really hope it doesn’t hit anyone else and moves out fast. Quote

Couple of times when there’s stuff going around and I’ve felt borderline I’m sure this has saved me. 1 Quote
Ausmumof3 Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Also get some hydralite or similar in. It makes a world of difference to recovery time for me. 1 Quote
RootAnn Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Ugh. Right before Thanksgiving (Tuesday?), I thought I had the stomach flu -- diarrhea, aches, fever, nausea. I think it was a 24 hour bug because I was tired but mostly fine g.i.-wise by Thanksgiving & everyone else has been fine (so far). Take care of yourself. I think me crawling into bed to rest helped me to recover faster. And like @Ausmumof3 said, stay hydrated! Quote
Terabith Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 Toast was a very bad idea. Sigh. Quote
