Critterfixer
Good evening, Accountables! I didn't post this morning. I was out playing at a river with the boys. No school tomorrow, but we have horrible weather coming in, and today was just too pretty to stay inside more than we had to. And yes, I still got my writing done. Took it with me.
Mommyof1
Yes to school today. Its early and she just got up. Regular days work phonics, math, penmanship. We also have been learning about the president's of the USA and our states and capitals. She reads to us and we read (if I have a voice) or audiobooks. She hasn't painted her volcano yet. She wasn't interested in painting lately. Yesterday was church, story time at library and since weather was good she played at the park. Today will be below freezing all day. Possibly snow.
serendipitous journey
Good morning! This week we have a mini-break on Tue & Wed (because our term, which runs up to Thanksgiving week, was such a long one) -- during breaks we keep up with outside classes + study one other subject -- and my general goal is to make sure we have our toes in all our subjects. We have a round of colds that is slowing us down, hopefully it is all just colds. Need to get flu shots this week, the boys & I are behind on those but DH got his at work. For today: school (Bible is priority; languages, piano, English, some history, some science ideally, some math). House: round of cleaning. Exercise: everybody do some running & some strength & stretching. Get us out the door for our Monday night game and leave a neat house with DH's dinner ready. Ha! that would be quite an accomplishment. Another goal for today: approach my tasks with energy & joy and my children with love. ETA: rounding out my goals for the week here. We definitely need to prioritize Bible/Christian Studies and that's probably the subject we'll do on our break days. Exercise is -- after meeting requirements for outside lessons -- the next priority. House cleaning, and esp. homeschool organization for the next term, right up there Garden work to prep for winter: do something at least, could do this on days off Begin to prep for holidays, focusing on bringing love into the world Edited November 11, 2019 by serendipitous journey
Critterfixer
Morning. So far I've managed to fight to get my short story up on a forum where the formatting is hard to wrangle, burned myself searing stew meat, almost burned said stew meat because I got distracted with a sketch, and I'm kind of thinking I should probably just go back to bed where it's safe. But I have words to write, a short story to put through a revision, and then more sketching and painting to work on. Plus school schedules. We're taking today off because DH is off.
Critterfixer
Morning! Back to school this morning. The Arctic express came through last night, dusting the deck with snow. I can't remember snowfall earlier in the year than this. It's cold! The boys went out and tended the chickens. They were cozy in their house with their fresh hay. We put it in yesterday and they've been burrowing through it ever since. But it's sunny, and even when it's cold, they'll come out into their pen to scratch around. We have a fire going in the fireplace today. The cats are most appreciative. For me: short story project, NaNoWriMo drafting, and some character work. I'm trying to relax after a long October of revising. I'm really trying. It's just hard not to feel I'm not doing enough.

Critterfixer
Morning. Boys are in charge of seeing the fire is kept going. It's only supposed to touch 40 today, and it's very cold. Warming up later in the week. They have already started their schoolwork. I finished getting a blog post done. Those things take valuable writing time away from me! Going to figure out how much I want to do and what day I'd like to write that material vs regular daily work. Drafting for the rest of the day.
serendipitous journey
Morning. Yesterday flew by in a haze of head-colds and minimal school. Still working on our week's list; no holiday prep yet, for instance. Today: languages, piano, Christian Studies -- work on review lesson 5 exercise for me & boys sketch out essential work for rest of term (just 9 days of work left!) sketch out our next set of work, which is 3 terms of early modern & chemistry try to do some work in: house; garden; holiday prep. live in love & joy & maintain good humor. Boys would probably agree that I should definitely be focusing on this. 😉 Edited November 14, 2019 by serendipitous journey
serendipitous journey
Today is much like yesterday. My goal is to hit each subject at least once in the next two days: Start with literature with elder, unless the timing doesn't work -- but do literature with him early, before class languages (g g l l), piano (e y), Christian Studies lesson work (e y), memory work (e y); math (e y), English (e y), dip our toes in some history (e y) and science (e y). exercise for me & boys (m e y): this should be our afternoon priority review term goals before we start work on this (it will take some time over several days): sketch out our next set of work, which is 3 terms of early modern & chemistry do some work in: house; garden; holiday prep. Prioritize spending 5" cleaning a "zone" in boys' bedrooms and dusting. love & joy & good humor: try to keep these in the middle. serendipitous journey
Morning! Today will be gathering bits & pieces to do. Hit science, literature, history and English subjects and keep our toes in languages and piano. Art for elder. For me: cleaning, planning, holiday prep. Try to get the grocery shopping done. drafting weekend list. This more than I can get done; it is a Wish List and I'll have to triage as I go. catch up to elder DS in math (or at least spend at least an hour trying) prep our week's work (CS memory work up to date, assemble a memory notebook for each boy and myself) figure out what we need for next term, organize stuff (or at least spend some time trying) plan next week try to stay centered on what is really good and fosters wellness plan out end of term list/goals -- this is next week's school (elder child: daily read "Middle Ages"; Globe Theater book, Bard of Avon book) have an idea of what to accomplish, holiday-wise allow time for holiday prep and getting Thanksgiving stuff going focus on experiences -- plan for some games, some hikes/walks, some one-on-one time with the boys, see if I can find some books and old toys to rotate in/out so that things seem fresh; plan an oak-planting adventure or two, finish our paper flowers & put them out where people can take them, have boys help do something for people in the community, pull out craft boxes that might suit exercise: today, me; tomorrow, boys too! work on cleaning and organizing home & homeschool stuff for the garden, try painting top of wall at gate and getting something transplantable -- boxwood? -- in the ground under main window, perhaps at foot of wall, and some hope of green stuff on the slope outside our bedroom window: maybe clover seed there. Critterfixer
It's official. December is going to be so, so much worse than the madness of October. Working hard to figure out a schedule that will preserve my sanity and actually let me not hate Christmas more than usual. Today though is a nice, restful day. I got a lot of planning done this morning, and as hectic as it will be, there's a possibility that I may actually get more rest than usual, because I'm scheduling it. School is almost done for the day, there's a dinner in the oven, and I'm about to settle down for an afternoon of drafting. I have two critiques left to finish today, but other than that, it looks like a reasonably clear weekend for some good days drafting.

My birthday is worse for me than Christmas, but both are hard for various reasons. I don't think the children suspect. so glad you are Scheduling for Sanity. I may take a page from your book ...
