AnthonyCornett
Where is this information coming from? I even read the appendix regarding Terah's history, but it's not explicit as to where this is being sourced. My guess is rabbinical commentary. It is made to look as if the information is coming from the Book of Genesis, but it is clearly not there. Offering idols at a Ziggurat of the ancient city of Ur? Firstly, Ur of the Chaldees is not the ancient Ziggurat-filled city of Ur, hence the epithet 'of the Chaldees'. The larger city wouldn't have required a secondary title as point of reference. Haran is not on the way to Canaan from the larger city of Ur, but is certainly on the way from Ur of the Chaldees, which is modern Ur Kasdim. Has this already been discussed elsewhere, perhaps? I don't want to beat a dead horse. Thanks!
