Arcadia
From abc7news https://abc7news.com/localish/students-invent-life-changing-device-for-teacher-with-als/5651316/ “Last year, robotics teacher Joe Paneitz and his students created a device called "Linda's Laptote" for a retired teacher with ALS. Linda Kenworthy, a beloved former P.E. coach, is now wheelchair-bound and has lost the ability to speak with her own voice. She uses her Laptote every day to perform tasks more easily. Now, students are hoping to patent the Laptote in order to help even more patients with ALS.” 4
gardenmom5
there are some absolutely brilliant young people out there doing great things. good for them, and I wish them luck in getting their patents (they can take seven years to work through the system.) Mabelen
Bittersweet. It’s beautiful that those students could help and make a real difference in the teacher’s life. At the same time, having witnessed my sister’s demise to ALS, I can’t stop thinking that it might not be that helpful for very long.
