Chemistry recommendations after Ellen McHenry?

Recommended Posts

My son is finishing Ellen McHenry's Carbon Chemistry this week. He completed The Elements last year. He like EMH and wanted to continue with her other topics... until he saw the other subjects and was just not interested. He was hoping EMH had another book in the chemistry series. He says he wants to continue on with chemistry using a different curriculum.

I'm having a hard time finding a good follow-up to EMH Carbon Chem. Any suggestions?

He is in 6th grade.

I appreciated the content of Middle School Chemistry by ACS.  We did that last year with Carbon Chemistry by EMH.  It took us a little bit more than a semester to complete (Middle school chemistry), but we were also doing science (forensic science) at co-op so I didn't have as much time to devote to it.

ETA: It's free.  I did print my own "book" because I don't like to rely on an electronic book.
