MamaSprout
Can anyone recommend a one semester asynchronous upper level (roughly equal to AP or above) high school literature option? I initially was considering Lukeion, but I really don't want to deal with multiple spring break weeks. We had to reschedule our fall travel plans to spring. I own a lot of stuff already, but I'd like dd to have a teacher that's not me for this one. We've never outsourced English before (or much else, actually). Farrar
Is there some reason that you wouldn't DIY it? A short list of books plus a couple of writing assignments is really all it would take. You could specifically choose books that you know have lit guides with questions and essay topics.
MamaSprout
I could DIY it. I've taught outside English/ writing classes for years. I even have something I wrote sitting on the shelf. That's the back up plan, I guess. I don't want to DIY, I don't think dd wants to DIY it, and so I'm pretty sure it wouldn't get done. My second choice is the local DE, since dd will be doing science there anyhow, but honestly it would be less rigorous than a home brew or homeschool option. So open to ideas if anyone has any! Lilaclady
Excelsior and memorial press both have 1 semester class- the excelsior class is equivalent to AP Lit but she can also dual enroll with LeTourneau to get credit. The memorial press one had a different schedule which made it overlap but my dd took that in the fall. It is called senior Thesis.
MamaSprout
The Excelsior independent study courses look like they might have some potential. Thanks.
