Nemom
My high schooler would like to take a sign language class for an elective this year. Does anyone have anything they can recommended?
Nam2001
I ended up finding a local class but when I was looking for an online class first, I saw this one. I don’t know anything about it, but it’s worth a look. https://academy.brightideaspress.com/product/american-sign-language-1/
Ailaena
https://www.lifeprint.com/asl101/lessons/lessons.htm He’s west coast, so if you’re not, there will be some regional differences (which is mostly minor). If you do all of the worksheets and practice, that will help, but it’s one of those languages that really, really need to be practiced with somebody fluent in the language in order to ever effectively communicate. Renai
There is a lot on LifePrint! I remember finding it years ago, and it was full even then. There are several ASL teachers on Outschool. A teacher that is newer on the platform is deaf, and currently offering live classes. It looks to be an immersion experience. I plan to have my daughter take a class with her: https://outschool.com/teachers/Dianerey-Mora#usWYh7px2U

goldenecho
The Joy of Signing is the book we used in our sign language class in college and it's excellent...though there are sign languages dictionaries online now which are better (or at least better for the words they cover).
