bluebonnetgirl
Does anyone have a recommendation for a basic computer skills class for a young adult with autism? He has auditory processing disorder, so I need something very visual, and step by step. If it is online, the speaker cannot speak too quickly or with an accent. Having a "show me" then repeat approach is best. Looking for the basics: Word, Excel, uploading and downloading files, antivirus, computer maintenance, using Google calendar, and other basic apps, etc. Thank you so much!
adamsellman
Hey there, there's a basic computer skills assessment that can help you review and tests your proficiency levels in all Microsoft Office programs including : Word, Excel and programming tests from advanced Basic HTML and Network & Administrator Test. You can check out the assessments and test variables Here.

Junie
(*Disclaimer -- I don't have experience with autism) Ds18 used a curriculum called TechnoWonderland. I am planning for dd16 and dd14 to use it this fall. Ds18 seemed to enjoy it well enough. It doesn't do everything that you're wanting, but it teaches the basics of Microsoft Office. hollyhock2
My boys have used some of the tutorials at GCFlearnfree.org. I have no idea if this will work for your student, but it is free and maybe worth looking at. Mine have done the tutorials for Word and Excel, but there are lots of other options on there.
