boys' board swim shorts without mesh liner--um, how does this work?

Recommended Posts

We received about five pairs as hand-me downs from a FL cousin. I am lost. How do my boys wear these?

Wear with undies?  A jock strap?  Commando? I haven't seen these before.

Help an Ohio girl out please?

I vote commando. One of my boys always hated the mesh part so much, we would have to cut it out before he would swim.

Compression shorts/quick dry undies underneath....at least for my tween and older ones.

Are you sure they are for swim? Without the mesh liner, we just assume they are regular shorts.

DS always cut the mesh liners out of his board shorts. As long as the shorts aren't short-short (like gym shorts rather than board shorts), there shouldn't be any issue with unintentional flashing.

This is a good question. They look like they are designed for swim but he might have worn them as regular shorts--but if he did, I have no hand-me-down swim shorts from them which makes no sense since they swim all the time. The swim shorts he wore when we were there were like these but I didn't think to ask if he wore anything underneath.

My boys wear a jammer underneath those.

I had to look that up. I had no idea what those were. 😃
