Janeway
What would be a good, and not too painful way, to review algebra 1 and maybe even get a head start on algebra 2 this summer? I thought of simply starting algebra 2. Also, I have unfinished Keys to Algebra books he could review from first. I am open to a variety of things, including apps and computer games. This is his biggest struggle but he wants a career in a math related field. Edited May 20, 2019 by Janeway
MamaSprout
What did you use for Algebra 1 and what are you using for Algebra 2? You could work back through the Algebra tests and review what he missed. Some standard Algebra 2 textbooks also have 3-4 chapters of Algebra 1 review at the beginning of the book that the Algebra 2 class just skims. Also, Mr D has "6 week summer review" courses and 11 week full courses: https://www.mrdmath.com/curriculum/summer-programs/
mom31257
These are great summer review programs through our own board member's site, Jann in TX. And they are very affordable! http://myhomeschoolmathclass.com/boot-camps.html
sbgrace
I like the idea of that boot camp. I wonder if it would be more helpful than Aleks, which might be another option OP--one I was thinking about. If I understand it correctly, it assesses where the learner is and then just covers what they need.
...................
I would just use Khan, since it’s free 🙂 my dd probably needs some Algebra review but I don’t know how I’ll convince her to do it ...however Khan is definitely perfect for this kind of thing
