Sarah0000
My first grader is doing the 7-9 Communities and Culture literature unit. I like that it has just a little bit of reading comprehension since we don't do a reading program and big picture ideas to analyze in organized ways. I'm finding it a nice program to replace RFP Aesop Book of Reading, Writing, and Thinking since he finished that series. So what are your favorite units or are they all pretty much the same? HomeAgain
I only bought units for the books my kid was interested in, so I guess all of them? 😄 No....I'd have to say The Giver was a definite favorite, along with My Side Of The Mountain. The Hobbit had elements he liked but overall he ended up tiring of the book. I tried one of Charlotte's Web with the youngest and I was definitely disappointed. It was so heavy on the wrong things- comprehension questions, silly craft work...I ended up ditching it and doing our own thing by tying in a better unit on arachnids, more thoughtful questions, and just plain enjoying the story instead of answering basic comprehension questions.
