SAT exam questions

Recommended Posts

I thought I'd better keep my questions separate 🙂

For the general SAT exam, can you please tell me about the following (these are questions from my daughter):

- do you sit all four sections on one day?

- are there breaks between the sections (for bathroom and food)?

- if there are breaks, are you limited as to where you can go? ie could my daughter and I meet up in any gaps between sections?

- what do you get to do your working on?

- how long is it before you get your results?

SATs are not a standard choice here in Australia, so I have few people to ask about this.

Thanks heaps 🙂

- do you sit all four sections on one day?

Yes. All in one morning

- are there breaks between the sections (for bathroom and food)?

There are two breaks for bathroom and food

”Breaks

For most students, there is one 10-minute and one five-minute break during the test, the only times you can eat and drink.

  • Keep your ID and admission ticket with you at all times. They’ll be checked every time you enter the testing room.
  • Test books, answer sheets, and calculators must remain on your desk during breaks.
  • You can’t use this time to power up devices, like cell phones—if you do, your scores will be canceled.” https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/taking-the-test/what-to-expect

- if there are breaks, are you limited as to where you can go? ie could my daughter and I meet up in any gaps between sections?

Yes, the student is limited to certain areas. Nope, you won’t be able to meet up with your daughter until after the exam is collected and the room proctor release the students.

- what do you get to do your working on?

The booklet itself

- how long is it before you get your results?

2 to 3 weeks usually and it shows up on her online account. You can check here for dates https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/scores/getting-scores
