sassenach
I am in so much sinus pain right now. Aside from sinus rinse (done), Sudafed (can’t), antibiotics (going to call my doc tomorrow), and Tylenol (done, with phenylphedrine, which doesn’t work great on me but is all I’ve got) is there anything I can do? TIA!
strawberries
A warm compress on my face sometimes helps me. Sorry you are dealing with this right now!
Guest
😕 A steamer running with Eucalyptus oil? Vick's vapo-rub? Those would be standard here until we can get medical attention. I hope you have already gotten some relief and my post is moot.

Pain is down but now I’m really nauseous. This has been the virus from hell.

Pawz4me
I'm sorry, and I hope you get some relief soon! The worst pain I've ever experienced in my life was from a sinus infection. And I've had two c-sections and a hysterectomy. They were nothing compared to that sinus infection from you-know-where.
Heatherwith4
I figured out recently that Advil helps sinus pain better than Tylenol. (That probably doesn’t help now, but something to know for the future.)
CTVKath
For middle of the night sinus pain that won't go away, I use a flexible ice pack wrapped in a washcloth. I've been known to fall asleep with it on my face.
Junie
Maybe try a hot steamy shower. It helps with my headaches; maybe it would help your sinuses?
cintinative
Ibuprofen is better for the swelling that comes from congestion. If you can tolerate it, I would try that instead of the tylenol. I hope you have been able to get some help today.

My DS13 recovers faster and sleep better when I put Vick’s vapor rub behind his ears, throat tonsils area, chest area (CPR location). Hope you feel much better soon.
J-rap
I'd suggest a hot steamy shower too. Drink hot herbal tea with lemon immediately after that.
Liz CA
Oil of Oregano. One to two drops in very hot tea. Doctor up with honey and sip slowly. Also the warm compresses on the sinus area. Oil of Oregano can and will burn delicate tissue (like inside of your mouth) so be careful with it and also wash hands after dispensing. People whose work exposes them to terrible smells (think death and medical) will put Vick's above their upper lip, so it's certainly safe.
Kebo
Maximum dose Mucinex and a warm wet cloth over the affected area.
