However, if you maintain it and keep an eye out for what goes into it, you could clean it once every 2-3 weeks. To clean your garbage disposal, you'll want to scrub under the baffle thoroughly to get into all of the folds and creases. Then you'll want to swipe around the top of the grinding chamber. Even though it's not necessary to have your hand near the grinding "teeth" at the bottom of the chamber, please be sure to take ALL precautions to prevent the disposal from being accidentally turning on while cleaning.
