three4me
My friend and I are going to teach a co-op class next year based on picture book biographies for grades 4-6. We were inspired by a recent Read Aloud Revival podcast about how these type of books can be great for upper elementary age kids. However, I'm having a hard time coming up with a fun name for the class. Any ideas? The plan is that we'll read a picture book biography and then do some related activities. Also, if you have specific suggestions for the class we'd love some input! Thanks!
2_girls_mommy
Is there something in common on the biographies? We did something similar in co-op once and called it American Heroes. We obviously were only covering people from American, but it wasn't just political history. We included George Washington Carver and Helen Keller, and all kinds of people, as well as a few presidents, their wives and such.
lmrich
Defintely pick a theme for your class - scientists, artists, history-makers, etc.. and spring board off that. Great idea for a class!
SoCal_Bear
Some moms in our co-op are doing a History's Heros class so similar name to the American Heros one above.
