Yet another snow day for my kids....I think they are at 10, maybe 11 so far and the storm is supposed to be worse tomorrow.

I will be home to bug them as I work for the schools too.  So today I will bother them to clean, pick up, etc.  Then do paperwork and make phone calls for missing tax papers and lead the cleaning brigade.

Good morning!  48 hours till the packers come and you would have no idea from the looks of this house.

-coffee
-get DS14 situated for school
-work as teacher's aide (last day!!)

-start the "do not pack" boxes I've been meaning to start all week
-start the "do not pack" suitcase and put clothes in it for the next 2.5 weeks (need to check weather situation first)
-finish my book (only about 30 pages left)
-find a new book to start reading
-make sure DS14 has taken apart all his big Lego sets so the packers can pack the boxes away
-make sure DS14 has emailed all his outside teachers so they know our moving schedule and he can re-schedule work that is due

-laundry
-dinner (leftovers, or see what perishables we can finish - which means the meal may be a cheese stick, some frozen blueberries, and carrot sticks....)

Good morning! Today is my brother's birthday, so ds3 and I are meeting him, his fiancee and my mom for lunch. I will try to be super productive this morning- because the SAT tutor is coming this afternoon, so things are a little compressed for time.

  • coffee/paper
  • write
  • school with ds3
  • laundry
  • chores/pick up
  • lunch with family
  • home to make sure tutoring is happening
  • ds3 to tennis
  • quilt/read/figure out dinner-maybe grocery store

Have a great day!

I slept all night and didn't wake up in horrible pain, so yay!

  • Finalize last summer camp (need to call the zoo).
  • School papers etc.
  • Kids have activities, but driver will drive them.
  • Kids' homework / test study / music practice.

We have just broken the 1916 record for the most snow here in February.  (Our snow amounts wouldn't impress Margaret, but we don't have the infrastructure to handle it.)

human care is done

pet care is done

Medical care is done

Now to shovel last night's accumulation.  And load all our garbage into the back of the car.  There has been no garbage pickup for two weeks and there is a big garbage drop off at a local park.  I am expecting long lines but hopefully I will be surprised.  How much school happens depends on how much time the garbage issue takes.

Helped dig out the neighbor who got stuck right behind my car.

Got by two other stuck cars on our unplowed side roads. 4wd for the win!

The line for the dumpster wasn’t as long as I expected. Got that done!

Got coffee shop school done. Starbucks was crowded with people with no power. Lots of transformer explosions going on.

Quick grocery store done

Managed to get home. Lent my snow shovel to another neighbor.

Ok I am going to insert a rant here against people who think that it is a good idea to drive their small economy cars in 20 inches of unplowed snow. Of course you get stuck!!!  And then because our roads are so narrow with cars parked on both sides of the street, no one else can get by. I had to back up all the way down two streets, out to a road where I could get some traction and then break new trail on untraveled streets just to get back home. I have renewed appreciation for my workhorse Rav4.
