Calizzy
I have a 5th grade dd who loves writing. She writes a lot on her own for fun. We have done narration and copywork to this point. This year we are doing MCT island level, so she has lots of grammar instruction. I was trying to follow their writing lessons, but think I'd rather add in the CAP material instead. Would you recommend starting at the beginning? Or jumping in somewhere?
Coco_Clark
As long as your DD is comfortable writing, I would skip Fable. It's very gentle. I would suggest starting with Narrative (book 2) unless your DD has already had a lot of practice writing narratives (both retells and origional stories) and you are stressed to get to essay-style writing right away. Then you could potentially jump straight to Cheria. BUT I think Narrative is a better entry point.
Shoes+Ships+SealingWax
We haven’t begun yet, but I wanted to let you know there is an ongoing CAP W&R thread (all levels) in the K-8 Writing Workshop subforum. I’ll be joining in with my DS’ work in Fable this summer 😊
Targhee
I agree with trying to start with Narrative 2. We also used MCT grammar and W&R, and I liked the combo.
