She did it -- mommy brag inside

Wonderful! Congratulations to your daughter and your entire family!!!

I have an acquaintance who has special needs. Her mother was told for many years to give up and that the daughter would never amount to anything. Well, now the daughter (my acquaintance) is all grown up, married with two teen daughters of her own and a wonderful husband. She has a good job, drives a car, owns a nice house, and is an exceptionally gifted interpretative dancer. It all began when her mother refused to give up.

Many hugs and virtual trophies for you both!

I am so happy for both of you!

I hear a lot of young adult Aspie stories that aren't going well (which is good, it helps me prepare for the future), but it's awfully nice to hear that things can all work out.

So happy for you both.

I have an Aspie.  We never thought he would even graduate high school.  He is the reason we homeschooled.  He is now a Junior in college, with a good scholarship to boot!  He still doesn't drive, and he still has some struggles, and we still worry, but your story is encouraging.
