lulalu
Currently we don't have a piano anymore. We are working on singing this year, and we sing as a family each day. Wondering of any others use a pitch pipe just for family singing. I would like one, but dh thinks it isn't needed just for us. I think it would help learn the keys and proper singing. maize
You can get apps that play a tone
Skippy
I have one and definitely find it useful for singing. I have an electronic kind. I have also used the kind that you blow into. My husband has a pitch pipe app on his phone.
lulalu
I didn't think to look for an app! Thanks!
Tanaqui
While an app is a great idea - are pitch pipes so expensive that this is something to discuss and/or disagree about?

Everything is expensive and takes up too much space for dh 😂

It takes up very little space.
klmama
If I needed a pitch but didn't want to add more stuff, I'd use an app or just go to musictheory.net, click on tools, and scroll down to the pop up piano.

Well, we all have our little issues, I suppose. But if you'd like to tell him that in this particular case the internet says he needs to get a grip, you have my permission as unofficial spokesperson 🙂 Edited December 26, 2018 by Tanaqui
