HollyDay
So....after living independently for a semester....staying out late, setting their schedule, generally being independent.......How is is coming home again where "community living" with parents and siblings is very different than community living with roommates?
Chris in VA
It has been great so far. It is actually more of an adjustment for ME, since I've had a bathroom all to myself (well, with dh).
ThisIsTheDay
My son has been home a few times already this semester. He stayed home to get his AA from CC before transferring to a 4 year university. I don't think anything has changed. He was already responsible for his own schedule. He seemed to do fine feeding himself, maybe going out more than I would have preferred. He did great in his classes, stretching himself and going out of his comfort zone particularly in one, which will allow him to tutor in the writing center. He'll do that for pay next year. He bonded with a few of his profs, something that comes easy for him. He's enjoying his roommates and is already planning to room with at least one next year (another has graduated). He's our second and youngest, so it was empty nest time for me and my husband. That went better than expected. I don't have to be dressed to walk around the house, we only run the dishwasher every couple of days, and our electric bill is down about $70 a month! It was a great semester! I'm thrilled to have him home for the next few weeks.
GailV
Dd has spent a huge amount of her time sleeping, so not much to remark on here.
