Late to the party. Ornaments are the only thing I collect, and our main tree is our family tree.

Also, we have nowhere to hang stockings, so wrapped boxes to the rescue!

We got a new artificial tree this year, and since we have space in this house, we decided to let the kids have the old one upstairs in their space.

Due to challenging life circumstances, none of us wanted to bother with a tree this year until I had the idea to throw tradition aside and try something new. One child refers to it as the ombre tree, the other, as the rainbow tree.

That’s really pretty! I’ve never seen a tree decorated like that, but it’s gorgeous! Way to go thinking outside the box. 😊

Love all the photos, here’s ours. I like traditional colors. So lots of red, straw ornaments and some kid made and travel reminders.

We had a small white one with colored lights for a couple years for my son which he loved but we got rid of it when we thought we were moving. May try to get one next year.

This has all been out since Dec 1, but tonight is the first time the room hasn’t looked like a tornado blew through. 😉

We’ve had a hot pink tree and royal blue tree for several years. But when we moved a few years ago, we invested in a 12’ artificial pre-lit tree that I found a killer deal on about 4 years ago. We’ve also had plastic ornaments since oldest child’s second Christmas. 🙂 I bought the iron tree for our annual traditional family ornaments to ensure their safety. 🙂

@JIN MOUSA I love those striped stockings!

@aggie96Your grass is so green! The lights are fantastic, there are a couple people in town who have set their lights to music, we have to go by frequently to enjoy the lights.

@Beaniemom we currently have a puppy gate around our tree. The puppy is leaving the tree alone (mostly because he’s rarely unsupervised). The 10 year old beagle has chewed up two presents, and he’s not normally a chewer!

@krsmomthe ombré is beautiful!!!!

@heartlikealionI really like the stocking holders. I would love something like that but we don’t have a mantle of any sort.

Here's ours. We put it up on Saturday. This year I designated theme zones on the tree. There's a segment with crystal and white and silver; a section where all the woodland animals and critters are; a section for our departed pets (their old collars and tags plus ornaments celebrating pets); an ocean section (it has a whale and an octopus and other creatures!); a whole big section for birds, & a section for santas and angels.  A few special round baubles add color here & there.

Basically. The cow kicked a panel and it spread the impact across his face and his glasses. He gets his stitches out in a few days and SOMEHOW his nose isn't broken! But the black eyes are to the green and purple stages--really attractive right now! Fortunately, he's not driving schoolbus right now, so he won't scare the children. He's getting some pretty funky looks on the public bus though. He got his revenge though, as the cow was being shipped to butcher. 😉

Wow! Glad he's going to be ok!
