Anyone have creamed rutabagas for Thanksgiving?

I had dinner Friday with a local quilting group that I belong to, and two of the ladies talked enthusiastically about creamed rutabagas.

I think I'm going to give them a try. We are having just Thanksgiving lunch at home because I have to go to work that afternoon. It's something I can make ahead of time.

Anyone?

Jibbley-jibbley-jibbley -- rutabagas are the only root vegetable that our family DISlikes.

Roasted regular turnips, parsnips, beets, carrots, sweet potatoes, red or russet potatoes -- all GREAT! Just NOT rutabagas. Since we didn't care for the flavor of roasted rutabaga (roasting brings out the natural sweetness in veggies), I can't think we'd like creamed rutabagas. 😫 But that's just us! Hope it goes over *great* with your family! Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂

LOL. My young adults are quite adventuresome with their tastes, so I think we'll try it. Rutabagas are very cheap at my favorite store.

I'm half German, and I'm pretty sure that my Dad made something like this one time that I liked. They were from the coastal area of Germany and tended to be very cosmopolitan in their taste in addition to being vegetarians.
