Alicia64
My cousin -- who will always be 19 in my mind -- is now a grandpa. The little girl turned one and lives many states away. I've never met her. Any suggestions for a neat present? Thanks! Alley
alisoncooks
Well, my twin nieces just turned one last month. I was a very boring auntie, and simply bought them a gift bag full of yogurt melts/puffs/baby crackers/squeeze fruit. I figured that (with 2 older sisters) they had more than enough toys and clothes...so I went the consumable route. :p

Alley A set of those wooden ABC blocks and one of those mini red wagons, like a replica radio flyer. My 1 year olds (and beyond) looooooved piling those blocks in the wagon and dragging it around.

Tanaqui
If you've never met her, I'd ask the parents or else just send a gift card. You don't know what other relatives have sent dozens of! Otherwise, I suggest the complete Sandra Boynton board book collection. Can't go wrong with books, and can't go wrong with Boynton either. Spryte
Oh wow, DD loved the Tickle Monster book linked above! That brought back memories. That was a big hit. I like the blocks and wagon idea, too, how about all three?
lavender's green
Each of my kids got a harmonica on their first birthday. They're cheap and small, and kids have fun trying to figure out how to make noise on it - and they're so surprised when it finally works!
