Math Mammoth Scheduling Problem...Please Advise!

My dd did Saxon 5/4 in Grade 3. Last year (4th grade), she started Saxon 6/5, but almost halfway through the book and the school year, she still hadn't learn anything new (review overkill). She was frustrated and bored to tears, so we made a happy switch to Math Mammoth midyear. Math Mammoth was clearly more challenging, so she had to start at the beginning: 5-A. This year, 5th grade, we are scheduled to do 5-B and 6-A. So we are constantly half a year behind (or ahead rather). If this continues, how will she do high school math levels (Algebra and beyond) starting in half the year? We normally outsource math in high school, so this will be a problem. Should I take a summer to catch her up? Or slow down and add some Beast Academy as a supplement? Or...any other suggestions?

Why not just let her keep going at her own pace for now? If at the end before algebra, she's still half a year ahead, maybe you could just fill in with something then. Maybe then she could take a little consumer math, or start Algebra on her own in an easy curriculum like Developmental Mathematics or Life of Fred.

Definitely don't worry now about her being "ahead" and high school math pacing.  She might need more time to solidify fractions, decimals, percents and pre-algebra concepts before Algebra 1, in which case you will be really happy to have the extra time.  MM will continue to get more challenging so just go with it and see where she is in 7th grade.
