Ancient Lit & Vandiver

Recommended Posts

I'm planning on using a few Vandiver courses to guide our ancient literature class this year, specifically Iliad, Odyssey, Greek Mythology, & Aeneid.  For those of you who have done something like this before, would you recommend reading first then listening to lectures or vice versa.  OR, in browsinng the guidebooks, at the end of her lecture notes she lists "required reading" which is usually a chapter or two of the book.  Should we listen to a lecture or two and then follow it up with reading the complementary chapters?  TIA!
