Classically Minded
Logic got pushed to the side and we didn't finish Critical Thinking in middle school and didn't do Traditional Logic I in 8th grade as I had planned. Anyone else done Traditional Logic I without having informal logic for a year or two before? I'm just wondering if we should finish Critical Thinking books or just skip them and go straight into Traditional Logic I?
teachermom2834
My ds did Traditional Logic 1 and 2 last year in 9th with no previous logic. He did do them through Memoria Press Online Academy. No problems but I don’t know how it would have gone if we had attempted it alone.
historymatters
You're fine. Martin Cothran, the author, doesn't recommend informal logic first, anyway. His sequence: TL1; TL2; Material (informal) logic; Classical Rhetoric.
