purduemeche
DS14 is deeply passionate about herpetology and we want to find him a self study course for this coming year. Anyone have a recommendation? Our fallback is to use an old herpetology textbook we have and determine a way to test for mastery.
Lori D.
WTM member dmmetler has a DD about the same age as your DS, and she has both taken classes and taught classes in herpetology. If dmmetler doesn't see this post and respond, definitely send her a private message to see what all her DD has done, and see if any of that would be a good fit for your DS. : ) Resource Ideas: - National Herpetology Convention -- attend the March 2019 Florida event for info, networking, and hours toward a credit - "Publication in Herpetology" -- this past thread has a link for publishing research, if DS's studies are of college undergrad level (a terrific course "output" beyond tests) - "Homeschool Herpetology" -- a 2016 post in which dmmetler lists resources & ideas for studying herpetology - Herpetology II (for upper elementary ages) -- this is the course dmmetler's DD teaches
