Chris in VA
Hi Kids! How nice to see you! I'm a grandma, too--do you get to do the homeschooling or are you just the curriculum consultant?? Dd graduated and is headed to college. We have other news I'm not sharing yet.

Looks like all the kids are doing well. Congratulations on the grandbaby. Looking forward to hearing your other news as well.
Liz CA
Wow. How many years has it been? You know you don't have to disappear like this; you can just pop in now and then!!![Big welcome smiley here] We lost all our good smiley options in a recent upgrade of the forum. Other than kids and grandkids, what has been happening in your life?

Jenny in Florida
Hello! It's good to have you here. I'm not sure when we last touched base, but I'm an almost empty nester nowadays. My daughter moved to NYC almost four years ago, at the beginning of the same summer in which my son graduated from our homeschool and went off to college. He didn't go far away, but it was a really hard adjustment for me. He has since switched academic gears somewhat, transferred back to a local college, more or less moved in with his girlfriend and, most recently, more or less moved back home. As a result of taking the scenic route through college, he still has another year or so to go to finish up the B.A. I'm keeping my fingers crossed he actually gets it done before he loses momentum completely. Meanwhile, I have gone back to work, via a twisty path that included multiple part-time and temporary jobs. As of about eight months ago, I parlayed one of the part-time gigs into a real live full-time job and am now working as a technology trainer at the main branch of our county library. It's not ideal, but I'm proud of getting to this point in my post-mommying career. I'm in the process of resolving the situation with my long-defaulted student loans and applying to do a graduate certificate. Assuming all goes well, I hope to begin that in the fall and finish it about this time next year. I think those are most of the highlights.
