stacyh270
I'm kicking myself for "sleeping on" WTMA's American Lit course because someone took the last available spot overnight so my DS (rising 9th grader) has the first waitlist spot available. I'm hoping ? that a spot opens for him but I do need to find a backup course. He's taking U.S. History this year so American Lit would be the perfect complement to that. I've tried doing homegrown lit with him in the past and it never goes well so he REALLY needs to be in a class for discussion, accountability, etc. I'm looking for a survey of American Lit with writing required as to cover a lot of the English composition requirement. I truly love the book list from WTMA and haven't found one quite like it on anything I've looked at so far ? TIA!
crazyforlatin
Have you looked at CRLC American Lit? http://www.clrconline.com/american-literature-high-school/ It includes a writing component. I looked at Brit Lit with the same teacher. We had to sign up for a different class due to other reasons, but I usually like what CLRC offers.
