Mary in VA
A month or so ago there was a thread about special need children and washable mattress pads. The thread had a wealth of information and I should have taken note. I now need the info as I am caring for my terminally ill dh. I have searched buy can't find the thread. Does anyone know what it was called? Thanks, Mary
Rachel
I don’t remember that thread, but I have these for my children who are bedwetters. They get washed regularly and have held up well. I learned about them from my grandma when she cared for her mother: https://smile.amazon.com/Medline-Washable-Underpads-incontinence-reusable/dp/B000FED594/ref=mp_s_a_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1529263054&sr=8-14&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=washable+mattress+pads+for+incontinence I’m sorry to hear your husband isn’t well. ☹️
Mary in VA
Thanks Rachel, I appreciate the info. My dh has ALS. I read the previous thread and just wasn't ready to deal with the issue at the time.? I can see now that I should be thinking about it. Anyone remember the thread?
Katy
Those washable pads are called chucks. I recommend them too. The mattress pads we have are these: https://www.target.com/p/waterproof-mattress-pad-room-essentials-153/-/A-14436972?preselect=14436957#lnk=sametab You can layer them- pad, sheet, pad, sheet, so that every night if something leaks over the chuck you can simply strip off one set of sheets without having to add another.
