momacacia
We've never had an overnight babysitter. How are they paid, what have you paid? Hourly, by day/night? What if they're only there overnight or part of day but not all day? I have a very helpful, responsible 13yo who usual babysits for us now for evenings out, but we won't leave her overnight (obviously). Other kids are 9, 5, 2...all sleep through the night. How does this roll $wise?
Katy
Ummm, we drop them off at an aunt's house and pay for pizzas, movies, and bring over a bag of snacks/junk food so it's a treat for everyone. Do you have family or close friends nearby that you could do that with?
Rachel
Our kids have only stayed with family members and trusted friends but I would agree upon a set rate ahead of time.
Tree Frog
Just after she graduated a couple of years ago, my dd did some overnight babysitting. I believe she was paid around $150-200 for about 24 hours of sitting.
Shellydon
Here, about $300 for two days/nights
Chris in VA
Welll...When I overnight pet sit, I ask $65 to be there from 7pm to 7am. I would hope people would pay more for their precious children to be babysat.
momacacia
Okay, this is helpful. This would be staying with kids with a very responsible college student (who has babysat for us regularly) overnight several nights and my mom filling in some during the day. Maybe for 2-4 days, while we're out of town. Sounds like setting on an agreed daily/nightly rate is best.
