mirabillis
I'd search but even Google search doesn't work well anymore since the new site. I feel like I'm ambling around blindly these days... (if I'm missing something, do clue me in) Anyway, as I'm sure there are dozens of threads about this - can't find 'em... How easy/hard is the Math 2 SAT subject test? This is coming off Pre-calc... what did you dc do to study? How did the do?
regentrude
hard to answer the question "how hard/easy". Depends on the student had his/her preparation. the curve is more forgiving than the Math 1. DD worked through this test prep book https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/148196321X/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 She got a 770. mirabillis
my ds is finishing up pre-calc now (through WHA). he has a solid A. final exam tomorrow. what with 4 aps and this final, he hasn't started official sat math prep. he will start it tomorrow afternoon. test is in 10 days. is that enough time? GoodGrief
My daughter got a 750 in 9th grade after Derek Owens precalc (and Teaching Textbooks for prior math.) She used a prep book, but I don't remember which one. Practice tests are generally helpful, so the student can figure out where any knowledge gaps might be.

Do one practice test in the morning and one in the afternoon since the practice test only takes an hour. 10 days is more than enough time since doing five to six tests is more than enough practice usually. DS12 did the two CollegeBoard tests from the CollegeBoard subject test book for practice and scored 750 last August after finishing AoPS intermediate algebra. DS13 did the practice tests from the Barron’s book after his AP Calculus BC exam and scored 800 last June. He took Math 2 subject test with the Physics subject test on the same morning. Math 2 subject test allows the use of a calculator even though it’s not really needed. Chemistry subject test does not allow the use of a calculator if your son is taking that on the same morning.

I think so - the prep book is for learning the question style etc - the student needs to know most of the material already - PM me I may have additional info good luck
alewife
My kids used Barrons. Ten days of prep should be plenty of time. My kids didn't feel that they needed a graphing calculator, but they did need to learn how to use their calculators to find linear, quadratric, or exponential regression. Lilaclady
10 days to prep should be plenty. doing at least 2 full tests is the minimum and with it being only 1 hr it should be easy to do. Just make sure your student go over the wrong ones and see why they miss it. My dd took a week of practice as she took it in May and was also prepping for AP exams. Best of luck
