Laurie
I'm learning so much from Royal Wedding Watch on PBS. Last night's episode was all about royal wedding fashion through the years. It was really impressive to watch some of the people working on the military uniforms...it's not just the wedding dresses that have lots of fancy embroidery! Here's a link to last night's episode. (You can skip ahead to the 46 minute mark if you just want to find out how to properly position your tiara!) http://www.pbs.org/royal-wedding-watch/home/#module2 P.S. Would you believe that I didn't have a family tiara to wear at my wedding? I had a headband thing with pearl beads. Before the wedding the photographer took a photo of my head/veil encircled with the ladies' bouquets. When my brother took one look at it later he said, "You look like you've just won a horse race." 3
Liz CA
If it weren't for this forum, I would probably not even know that Harry is getting married. Maybe I'll have time later to learn how to position my tiara...:) ? (This smiley looks like he has braces)
horsellian
I actually do have a family tiara I wore at my wedding! I don't think I'll watch though, in case I wore it wrong. (I thought it looked lovely.) It'll live in the bank safe deposit box until the next family wedding.

I put the combs in backwards, though, so we ended up using packing tape to attach my veil to my head. I don't think that's what they do in the Royal Family but ... it did work. They were talking about Queen Elizabeth's wedding tiara last night. It broke the day of the wedding and an armed escort had to take it to be repaired. I hope Meghan Markle will borrow one of her tiaras. Some fashion people on the show were talking about whether she might wear Princess Diana's Spencer family tiara...but I think that might be bad luck.

We might be surprised how often even royals have to resort to last minute tricks of the trade. :)
JIN MOUSA
Apparently of your hair/tiara combo don't naturally match up (or you just want it to be extra-secure) you sew the thing to your head...

Eek, that sounds painful and makes me feel claustrophobic. Like there's this thing stuck to my head that I can't escape from...?

Yes - I think like that (though all my knowledge is purely academic)
