Scholarships for skilled trades

I know this is the college board, but in case you've not following Mike Rowe on social media (and you should, by the way), his Mike Rowe Works scholarship deadline is coming up on June 4th.   It is a generous scholarship for people entering the skilled trades.

Also, spring (March-May) is when to apply for scholarships at our local Community College, and I would imagine that's true of other CCs as well. So if your student is graduating from high school and going on to a CC, look over the CC's website for financial aid/scholarship info and search for scholarships that your student may be eligible for. Scholarships at our CC are  awarded for a number of reasons: women, specific ethnicity/race, first in family to attend college, financial need, academic merit, etc., and that may be the case for your local CC, too! :)

The Masons or the Rotary Club or some similar organization gave my son (and some other students) a trade school scholarship. Our local public school administered the scholarship.
