What shoes? Help me complete my mom summer momiform

Hi Everyone,

I found these cheap sundresses on amazon, and I love them.   I own them in about every color.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WP5FCPV/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?smid=AO66LFLD0S7QX&th=1&psc=1

They are made out of the same fabric as t-shirts--so they are very comfy, cool, and easy to throw on.   I'm 5'2", so they are long enough that they cover my knees.  (So I can be a mom without worrying about flashing anyone!)   And I can also dress them up or down.

The only problem, I am not sure what shoes to wear with them.   I've been wearing black flip flops, but I'm not sure if that is really flattering.  I need something comfy and casual that I could wear in a variety of summer-mom-situations (the zoo, the park, the pool, etc.)  I prefer slip on so I can get out the door fast.     I have VERY short, wide calves, ankles, and legs.  So tennis shoes don't look that great on me nor do shoes with ankle straps.

Any suggestions?

How about some kind of a comfy casual sandal?  I'm thinking something like this:

https://www.shoes.com/sas-nudu-ankle-strap-sandal/837004/1839819?cm_mmc=googleproductads_pla-_-none-_-none-_-none

Those are kind of pricy.  I've seen much less expensive brands in a similar style.

ETA:  Oops, I see you wrote no ankle straps.  I have a comfortable pair of black SAS sandals that are slide-in only, no ankle strap. Also, Birkenstock has slide-in black sandals.

I have a pair of brown leather strappy sandals that is my typical go-to with sundresses.  They match my favorite leather purse, but also go well with a straw clutch if I'm going somewhere a bit more fancy with DH (and don't need the giant mom purse). I've bought sandals like them at Sam's Club and DSW.

I also have a pair of keen sandals for rainy days, parks, pools, or any other time I'm likely to get wet feet or walk more than 2 miles.

I wear FitFlops all summer. They are pricey but incredibly comfortable. I have bad feet and these are the most comfy shoes I own and worth the price to me. You can sometimes fine them on Amazon or Zappos cheaper than the website.

These are the ones I wear: https://www.fitflop.com/us/en/shop/womens-black-collection/lulu-leather-flip-flops-p-I88-001. I’ve had them in a silver/grey color and also have white and black. They have ones that are much fancier but I prefer the plain.

I’d get these, because I’m a flip-flop lover. They’re nicer than your average flip-flop, the color will elongate the legs (or any shade that best matches your own skin tone), and they’re comfy and appropriate for all the occasions you listed.

ETA:  This would be my second choice, if I just really wanted or needed to avoid a flip flop.

I just bought these in silver about a month ago. I’m still adjusting to them, since they’re my first pair of birks. They are super-cute though. The silver looks kind of dressy and great with everything. What color are you getting?

Thanks for the tip on the dress!!  It looks modest and comfy but also cute.

I would wear with silver Birkenstocks.  I wear my silver Gizehs with just about everything casual in the summer and agree with PP that the silver just dresses things up.

I have the top ones in silver so I think I'm getting the bottom ones in brown or bronze!

I've reached the stage of life where I will pay a LOT for a comfortable shoe, lol. Not cheap, but they have lasted me years, they "dress up" or "dress down", I've walked around the zoo and gone to the pool in them, and they still look great are one of the older Leisa styles of Clark Shoes (recommended by WTMers :) ). Here are some more Clark slip-on sandals:

Leisa-Lacole

Leisa Cacti Q

Rosilla Durham

And they have a number of dressier flip-flops or "between the toe" style sandals as well. More recently, I saw some WTMers recommending The Walking Company for comfortable shoes. What about a slip-on style?

My very favorite flip flops are by Olukai in the color Bubbly. In fact, I just ordered my second pair (my other pair a couple years old had a strap coming undone -- I wear them daily for six months minimum). Otherwise, I'm thinking about buying a pair of slip-on Birkenstocks. But I really don't like doing straps up on shoes - I like slip on and go!

Definitely Fit Flops, and in metallics, which are big this year and dress up and down.

For flats, I like Earthies as a very comfortable, slip in, socks or not flat.

If you want to dress them up a bit more, I'm partial to Abeo's low sandals.  They have awesome arch support--even with PF I find them awfully comfortable.

I absolutely love Crocs Cleo sandals for my summer Mom uniform.  I have several pairs of the original Cleo.  It is currently only available in three colors.  I hope they're not phasing it out, because it's been a super popular style for Crocs.

There is also a Cleo V, but the reviews for it are not as good:

https://www.crocs.com/p/womens-cleo-v-sandals/204268.html?cgid=women-footwear-sandals&cid=6NP#start=23

A pair of Cleos and a couple of sundresses or capris and ts are all you need for summer.
