What's with the ads?

If she can afford it, I would think a tutor would be the best option by far. It sounds like she needs to give him some space and let him realize this weakness because he's not hearing it from her - her trying to administer a writing program in an afterschooling way doesn't sound like a winning situation to me.

He’s only 17. There’s still time for him to figure this out. Maybe dual enrollment will set him up for success. I’m sure he won’t be the first senior in high school to enroll in ENC 1101 & have poor writing skills. I imagine that’s more of the norm than the exception these days. If he’s willing to do the work required of him by the professor, maybe he will come out on top. And if he doesn’t put in the work, maybe the consequences will be a hard life lesson that can still benefit his future.
