Mrs.W
My DD needs to take DiffEq this summer, but the local CC only offers one session in the middle of the day and she's hoping to work as well. I've been trying to find some online options and thought I'd see if anyone here has experience with this.
rbk mama
MIT OCW DS used this for differential equations and enjoyed it.
Katy
http://reg.outreach.lsu.edu/modules/shop/index.html?action=program&ProgramID=1428578 We haven't done this one, but we know of someone from a different online forum who claimed to (not in person). LSU has an extension program with many classes. The tuition fee is $736, plus books and potentially fees for proctoring. Check your local library to see if they have free test proctoring. Ours does, and a neighboring town charges something like $5-10.
SeaConquest
Stanford Online HS and CTY Online have differential equations, but they are $$$$$ unless you get a scholarship.
Mrs.W
Thanks so much for all the suggestions! It looks like she's decided to take it in the fall and take something different this summer. Her school is very picky on transferring in classes (especially math classes) and she's already fought one battle and doesn't really want to go through that again. Some of these look like great options for high schoolers taking DiffEq, but it doesn't look like they count as college credit. The LSU one looked promising, but it's not on the approved list at her school (which would mean she would have to go through the approval process), and I think she's made up her mind to go a different direction anyway.
MarkT
If your student just wants to look at the material this summer - take a peek at BookBoon they have free fairly "skinny" books. Some of the Diffy Q books got good ratings. They have ads in the PDF files that's how they are free. I have numerous books I have downloaded and actually read a couple :) Just down-loaded "A First Course in Ordinary Differential Equations" by Norbert Euler et al as a refresher.
