I want strong female songs with some beat. Something that pumps you up.

What are your favorites?

Born this Way, Lady Gaga

Not real upbeaty, but so pretty: Hallelujah, gorgeous cover of Leonard Cohen's song by Alexandra Burke

All About that Bass, Meghan Trainor

Real Gone, Sheryl Crow

Is this list for you or for kids?

For me -- not kids -- I love Miranda Lambert. Most of her stuff is very upbeat, strong female lyrics.

I used to actually sing I Am Woman to myself when I needed to do something hard in high school.  It worked!

I'm not so sure about Donna Summer's Bad Girls (listed by a pp). It is about prostitutes, after all. :-)

Haha true. So many songs are ruined when you know the lyrics or figure out what it's about.

It does have a good beat though.  :toetap05:

There were a few songs on my workout list I didn’t include because I wasn’t certain I knew exactly what the song was talking about.

Not kid friendly, but I love the song “F**king Perfect†by Pink.

My favorite line is:

You're so mean when you talk about yourself, you were wrong
Change the voices in your head make them like you instead
